Face-to-face appointments

Appointments with our doctors and nurse practitioner are for 10 minutes per patient. They can be made in person or by telephone (028 6632 5638). We offer a mix of face-to-face and telephone appointments. The receptionists will ask you the reason for your appointment so they can allocate you to the medical professional who can best deal with your request or issue.

If you cannot attend your appointment, please cancel as soon as possible to allow another patient to be seen. Telephone 028 6632 5638.

online healthcareWhen you arrive for your face-to-face appointment, use our automated check-in system in our waiting room. If you prefer, report to the reception desk to check-in. Either approach will ensure that you are not kept waiting.

If you are scheduled for a telephone appointment, the doctors and nurses will endeavour to call you as close to the appointment time as is feasible. Please allow a two-hour window around your appointment time. If you have not heard from us by then, telephone reception to enquire.

We can understand your frustration when doctors or nurses run late. It is sometimes difficult for medical staff to provide the best possible care and work strictly to time. We always put your individual medical care above the smooth running of our timetable. However, we would ask patients to be on time for their appointments as we cannot guarantee they will be seen if they are late.

The practice can guarantee a same/next-day appointment for all urgent problems, but this may not be with the doctor of your choice. You have the right to see a particular doctor, but you may have to wait longer. Appointments are not normally booked more than two weeks in advance.

Remember:

  • It is better to attend the same doctor with a recurrent problem.
  • One appointment per person, as extras will cause the surgery to run late.
  • One problem per appointment means that the issue can be dealt with properly.
  • If you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know in good time so that we may offer the slot to someone else.
