Appointments

Receptionists are the vital co-ordinators of the practice team, they will need to ask you details of why you need to be seen so that they can offer you an appointment with the most appropriate clinician. They are not being deliberately intrusive and are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as clinical staff.

Appointments

Some appointments for GPs and the Advanced Nurse Practitioner can be booked in advance in person at reception or by calling 028 6632 5638. Routine appointments to see a clinician of your choice can be made up to 2 weeks in advance. We offer a mix of face to face and telephone appointments.

GP appointments are of ten minutes duration and are for one named patient only.

Remember your community pharmacist can deal with a lot of your minor ailments, please refer to the link below for details on how to self-care for self-limiting illnesses such as coughs, colds, sore throats, back pain etc.

Urgent Appointments

If you have an urgent problem which cannot wait for a routine appointment we are able to offer urgent same-day consultations. However this appointment may not be with the clinician of your choice.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend for your appointment please cancel as soon as possible to allow another patient to avail of it.

On-the-Day Advice

If you have a problem that you feel cannot wait and there no appointments available, the receptionist will take brief details why a call back is required, this will normally be dealt with on the same day but if you call after 3:00 pm you may not get a response until the following day.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the practice, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by contacting reception before 11:00 am.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently the visit is needed.

Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule home visits.
